ABSTRACT
Fisioterapia pode ser definida como a ciência da saúde que estuda, previne e trata os distúrbios funcionais. Pronto Socorro é um setor do serviço de saúde hospitalar de atenção secundária e, geralmente, a porta de entrada do hospital, por onde adentram vários tipos de pacientes que podem ser classificados como Urgência e/ou Emergência, e com isso, apresentam maior risco de morte. O objetivo deste estudo foi apresentar as principais funções do fisioterapeuta e a importância do mesmo na equipe multidisciplinar em urgência e emergência no pronto socorro. Neste estudo se discorreu sobre os perfis de pronto socorro com indicadores em saúde, utilização dos serviços de urgência e suas causas de procura, além da função do fisioterapeuta como membro da equipe multidisciplinar, bem como a legislação vigente acerca da temática. A inserção do profissional nas unidades é recente, e são escassas as pesquisas envolvendo este novo campo, assim, se propõem maiores estudos para avaliar o impacto da atuação do profissional no setor, e ser de extrema importância que os profissionais que irão atuar neste novo campo busquem atualização em virtude da área compreendida.(AU).
Physiotherapy can be defined as the health science that studies, prevents and treats functional disorders. Emergency room is a sector of hospital health, service of secondary care and generally at the hospital entryway, where various types of patients come in who can be classified a stateof urgency or emergency and run imminent death risk. The purpose of this study was to present the main activities of the physiotherapist and the his or her importance in the multidisciplinary team in emergency care in the emergency room. In this study, it was talked about the emergency room profiles with health indicators, use of emergency services and the causes why patients look for it, besides the physiotherapist's role as a member of the multidisciplinary team, as well as the current legislation on the subject. The professional insertion in the units is recent, and the studies are insufficient involving this new field, thus it is proposed further studies to evaluate the professional practice impact in the industry, and is of unmost importance that the professionals who will work in this new field to catch up on due to the area that he or she is inserted to.(AU).
